Internships

Embark is seeking interns in the areas of Exhibitions and Digital Media. Interns will have the opportunity to gain insight into how art exhibitions come together from conception to completion, and how a non profit arts organization operates. All internships are unpaid and require a minimum of 6 hours per week, with the ability to work Saturdays or Sundays 3 days each month. Internships have a minimum 4 month commitment and can last up to 12 months.

Exhibitions Intern

  • Art handling and installation
  • Attend Studio Visits
  • Gather exhibition materials for each show
  • Conduct Curatorial Walk Throughs
  • Research funding and collaboration opportunities
  • Work exhibition openings

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an art or arts related program (undergraduate or graduate).
  • Documented interest/experience in curatorial studies, art administration, and/or non-profit organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willing to wear many hats and be involved in all aspects of exhibition programming

Digital Media Intern

  • Artwork documentation
  • Assist in designing exhibition media (postcards, posters, flyers)
  • Online marketing through email and social media
  • Research visual communication models
  • Work exhibition openings

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an art or arts related program (undergraduate or graduate).
  • Knowledgeable in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Documented interest/experience in marketing, communications, and/or non-profit organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Photography experience a plus
